Senior Manager – VAT Compliance – (M/F)

Job Description

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Manager – VAT Compliance (M/F)

Your Position:

• Overseeing and coordinating the preparation and review of Luxembourg periodic and annual VAT returns for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant delivery in line with regulatory requirements and client expectations.

• Managing VAT registrations, deregistrations and related administrative formalities with the Luxembourg VAT authorities (Administration de l’Enregistrement, des Domaines et de la TVA), while building and maintaining trusted relationships with senior client representatives.

• Monitoring VAT filing deadlines across the client portfolio and ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

• Overseeing the preparation and filing of EC Sales Lists, recapitulative statements and, where relevant, Intrastat declarations.

• Managing correspondence and discussions with the Luxembourg VAT authorities, including responding to queries and assisting clients during VAT audits.

• Leading, coaching and motivating your team, ensuring clear communication of objectives and expectations, and conducting performance appraisals.

• Monitoring client budgets, profitability and non-recurring services, reviewing invoices and supporting cash collection follow-up.

• Contributing to knowledge sharing within the Firm and identifying relevant training needs for your team.

Your Profile

• You hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax Law, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.

• You have 8 to 11 years of relevant professional experience in Luxembourg, ideally in a similar position.

• You have strong technical knowledge of Luxembourg VAT regulations and indirect tax matters.

• You have proven experience in team management and are able to motivate, coach and develop team members.

• A relevant professional certification (e.g. ADIT – Indirect Tax) is considered an asset.

• Membership in local professional bodies or associations is considered an asset.

• You are fluent in French and English, both orally and in writing. An additional language is considered an asset.

• You demonstrate excellent organisational skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• You have strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with individuals at all levels.

• You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and familiar with VAT tools such as Fiscalease.

• You demonstrate tact, diplomacy and discretion, and observe confidentiality at all times.

• You are dynamic, open-minded, flexible and business-oriented.
